The Lemon Twigs - “They Don’t Know How To Fall Into Place”
The Lemon Twigs recently announced that they’ll be releasing a new record, A Dream Is All We Know, on May 3rd. It was a bit of a surprise to me. Why’s that? Well, they just released a stunning 13-track record in May of 2023. If the next effort’s first single, “My Golden Years,” was any indication, the D’addiro brothers are looking to one-up themselves in 2024. The new album’s second single, “The Don’t Know How To Fall In Place,” is further proof that their forthcoming release is shaping up to be their best collection of songs yet.
The duo serves up more of their signature sound on “They Don’t Know How To Fall In Place.” Their vocal harmonics and melodies are brimming with life-affirming gooeyness. Sunshine radiates from their guitar strings, which jingle and jangle throughout. Add a bouncy organ to the mix that nicely complements the song’s whimsical themes of unrequited love and you have the formula for a certified bop. Spring is here early, and it has nothing to do with the weather.
