Fascinations Grand Chorus - "End Credits (The Rest Of Our Lives)"

There aren’t many bands that make me smile quite like Fascinations Grand Chorus does. Even their spooky tunes are grin-inducing, which is kind of the opposite of what you’d expect from a horror-themed record. It seems like “grim-inducing” would be the more appropriate descriptor, but sound-wise, the duo of Andrew Pierce and Stephanie Cupo inject plenty of their trademark vintage pop charm into the latest installment in their horror-themed trilogy of EPs, Terror In The Night Act 3. Collectively, the three “Acts” make up their second official full-length, Terror In The Night, which takes listeners through an epic and summery slasher-movie-inspired narrative.

The album’s final track, “End Credits (The Rest of Our Lives),” is a peppier extension of “Rest of Our Lives (Prelude),”  the more ominous-sounding predecessor that appeared on Act 1. The album peaks in tension just after the midpoint with menacing interstitials like “Goodbye” and the dreamier “Wake Up,” which recounts the confusing moments following a mysterious dream. Fascinations Grand Chorus releases that pent-up emotion by the conclusion, culminating with this bright finale. “End Credits (The Rest of Our Lives),” neatly brings resolution to the loose, overarching narrative that’s fleshed out across the preceding 23 tracks, incorporating bouncy keys, a brisk rhythm, and an optimistic tone that’s buoyed by the harmonic final refrain, “I will never forget you.”
