Gypsy Tears - "TalkTalk"

Gypsy Tears are on the up and up in Hudson County and they’re in the midst of a big couple of weeks. Last month, they shared their latest single, “Talktalk,” which put their sludgy and taut style of guitar-heavy grunge-gaze on full display. They’re also in the midst of a weeklong string of local dates, which includes performances at Pet Shop in Jersey City on Thursday, November 3rd and at 3BR Distillery in Keyport for the next Ukraine Mutual Aid benefit show.

“TalkTalk” is driven by a sense of urgency. The peppered backing vocals and pounding bassline create an inescapable air of tension that remains ubiquitous across the song’s duration. Frontperson Gypsy Soto’s haunting vocals craftily sift through a maze of distorted guitars in order to maintain equal footing, which gives the track its truly distinct flavor.
