Fair Visions - "Feels Right"

Fair Visions - "Feels Right"

Brooklyn’s Fair Visions released their debut single, “A Goodbye,” just before things went to shit. It’s a strangely prescient song lyrically and an interesting choice for their first single, as once lead vocalist Ryan Work proclaimed “This is a goodbye,” we essentially said farewell to the world as we knew it. Despite these goodbyes,  Fair Visions are just getting started, and soon they’ll be releasing their debut EP, A Way Out, on August 14.

Fair Visions are pushing forward during this new normal by adding another infectiously rhythmic tune to their repertoire. Their third single, “Feels Right,” is another track of polished and danceable post-punk. The song’s new wave-electro beat bursts out of the gate quickly and remains contagiously steady throughout. The groove locks in early with pulsing synths, faint flashes of guitar strums drenched in reverb, and a fluid, flowing rhythm. Lyrically, Work explained that the song describes "checking out of a world that's too occupied with itself to even notice you've drifted off." Mirroring this theme, his vocals are pale and embody the type of detached feeling that he describes. The song is an excellent modern take on the kind of dance-inspired post-punk heard on Wire’s A Bell Is A Cup Until It Is Struck and New Order’s Brotherhood.

You can purchase “Feels Right” on Bandcamp.  The song is also available on all streaming platforms, including Spotify.  Keep up with Fair Visions by liking them on Facebook and following them on Instagram.
