Feyer - "My Disconnection"
We’re excited to premiere “My Disconnection,” the brand new single from Brooklyn artist Feyer. During a time of increased isolation and separation from others, we’re all sharing similar feelings of disconnection, be it from loved ones, the lives we once knew, or even just feelings of normalcy. Quite literally, Feyer wrote and reordered “My Disconnection” by himself in his own bedroom, under circumstances that probably seemed like a different universe.
Thus, it’s no coincidence that “My Disconnection” sounds not of this world - it’s a sharp slice of synth-pop beamed in from another planet. It cycles through tinny electronic beats and Feyer’s smooth, and slightly auto-tuned vocals rapidly, giving the track an almost futuristic vibe that sounds quite literally disconnected from reality. His lyrics describe feeling disillusioned with societal expectations, fighting creeping feelings of loss of direction, and the struggle to re-focus or “get a grip” when you’re thrown off course. Feyer also enlisted the talents of rapper Siege Spitfire for this track, and he drops an absolutely dynamite verse about three-quarters of the way through.
