Weep Wave - "The Void"

We’re excited to premiere the brand new video for “The Void” from Seattle garage rockers Weep Wave. The track is the band’s second single of 2020 and it expounds on the struggles that many creatives encountered during the pandemic. In this unprecedented time of isolation, it’s easy to get lost inside the fog of your own thoughts, and Weep Wave delves into this phenomenon on “The Void.” The lyrics seem entirely appropriate for the current Halloween season, as they even seem to allude to an almost paranormal experience: “Stuck inside / Nowhere to run / Try and Hide all you want / In your head you're haunted.”  To match these surreal lyrics, verbed out guitar riffs guide the song, wandering aimlessly through their vast surroundings, as they mirror the never-ending cycle of thoughts inside your own head described by frontman Dylan Fuentes.  His hypnotic vocal delivery meshes perfectly with the song’s swirling instrumentation, effectively creating a trance-like wall of sound.

The video is similarly eerie, as it follows the band while they wander through the woods at night.  The shots appear to capture the scene with night vision, with the screen’s green tint catching glimpses of each member, trees, and mysterious objects. It totally has a spooky Blair Witch Project vibe to it, making it perfect viewing for Halloween.
