Chazzy Lake - "Fake Friends"
We’re excited to premiere the video for “Fake Friends” by Chazzy Lake, the project on songwriter Charlie Hill. The track appears on the project’s latest full length, Sup Circumstance, which was released in August.
Splitting time between the scenic nature of Burlington, VT and the bustling metropolis of Brooklyn, NY, Chazzy Lake strikes a nice balance between the folk sounds of the country and the more experimental leanings of the city. “Fake Friends” moves at a steady pace with a dynamic, but hushed beat as Hill sings poetically about the artificial and fleeting nature of some relationships. He laments “I see fake friends looking for someone that they can be tonight, showing up just to say they know what’s right.” The song traverses between lush and stripped down with flickers of bright guitars mixed in throughout and beautiful harmonies sprinkled in to help string along its rising melody. The cinematic accompanying video centers on Hill as he spends time in the isolated countryside of Vermont with shots of him riding a tractor, spending time with his horses, wandering through the woods, and playing guitar inside his home. The video was produced by Kayhl Cooper.
Sup, Circumstance was co-produced and mixed by Kevin Bloom of the Dead Shakers at Leilani Sound. You can purchase the album via Bandcamp. Keep up with Chazzy Lake by liking them on Facebook and folllowing them on Instagram.
