The Dawn Drapes - "You Are The One"

Philadelphia’s The Dawn Drapes definitely have soul, and they channel it all into their latest single, “You Are The One.” This psych-pop gem oozes with a thick and charismatic vintage sound that’s driven by analog sounding synths and poetic lyrics that dig inward in an attempt to understand what you’re seeking from another. The vocals and harmonies pop, walking hand in hand with the song’s cool rhythm while colorful guitars steer things deeper into psychedelic territory.  The combination of members Daniel Rice and Michael Sanzo’s slightly treated voices, the percolating synths, and their swirling guitars have the effect of lulling you into a hazy hypnosis. They tread in a melodic, far-out ambiance that calls to mind bands like Foxygen and the Allah-Las.
