Gang Box - "It Has Wings"

Gang Box - "It Has Wings"

Brooklyn’s newest trio, Gang Box, shared their debut single, “It Has Wings,” earlier this month and I was immediately impressed by their creative fearlessness and lack of self-imposed boundaries. The song runs the gamut in terms of style and influences, starting out with a brash and thunderous intro that’s fueled by propulsive cymbal crashes, some spit-fire verses, and fuzzy guitars. This influx of energy eventually gives way to a big tempo change, as the song settles into some softer tones for a more stripped down outro. These sonic shifts mirror the emotions of fear, anger, and surrender in the lyrics, which chronicle having to confront a huge cockroach in your apartment all by yourself after a rough breakup.

The band also recently shared a video for the song that brings this nightmarish scenario to life! Stream it below!

You can purchase “It Has Wings” via Bandcamp or stream it on Spotify. Keep up with Gang Box by liking them on Facebook and following them on Instagram.
