Steele FC - "Save Room"
“Save Room,” the latest single from Brooklyn’s Steele FC dropped back in August and has remained in my regular listening rotation as the seasons have cycled from summer to fall. On Friday, the project shared a brand new video for “Save Me” that pieces together various snippets of personal video footage that includes shots of Steele playing guitar in an open field, city dwellers walking about, cars passing him by on the highway, and much more. The song itself is presented in a third-person narrative style that details the complicated process of feeling deep emotions like love, and the metamorphosis that happens when such feelings fade away. He particularly delves into the unique circumstances that characterize a city-romance, which is certainly of a different ilk. Steele pairs this subject matter with some catchy guitar licks that emanate just the right amount of fuzz. It’s a hook-heavy tune with a strutting beat and a chorus that bounces off the walls.
