“Sorry I’m Just A Waste of Time” is anything but a waste of time. So, really, no apology is necessary. Just pop in your earbuds and enjoy some guilt-free listens while you bask in its garage rock glory.

The latest single from Los Angeles’ Julez and the Rollez is their first of 2022 and comes on the heels of some changes for the Jules Batterman-fronted project. First, her backing band, ‘the Rollerz,’ swelled from a two-piece to a quartet, and these additions to the ensemble have helped to bolster the project’s sound. “Sorry I’m Just A Waste of Time” packs some serious guitar girth and its crisp, warm production allows several other sonic flourishes to shine through, including some gooey harmonics, delightful Farfisa organ-sounding synths, and sharp, propulsive drumming. At the same time, the song’s fun, rollicking energy is paired with some relatable lyrical themes that delve into the feelings of guilt that result when you feel like cutting yourself off from the world. “‘Sorry I’m Just A Waste Of Time’ was written on a day where I felt like I was letting everybody in my life down, during a time when I felt my most introverted,” Batterman shared. “It’s all based on how badly I just wanted to stay home by myself, and how I kept apologizing for it.”
