Kaz Mirblouk - "Dozer"

“Dozer,” the new single from Los Angeles’ Kaz Mirblouk, hits that nice sweet spot between heavy-handed and pop-oriented psychedelia. The early stages of the song feature the kind of gnarly riffs that you’d hear on your favorite Oh Sees jam, but the song still retains a strong pop presence through the sweet melodies that flow from Mirblouk’s gentle voice. His vocal delivery is smooth and enchanting, allowing the heavier elements to blend easily with its more spatial grooves. In addition to the psych tinges, “Dozer” has a shoegaze and dream pop ambiance that’s felt through some ringing acoustic guitars and a cosmic ending that propels that song’s final moments to a stratospheric level. 

The trippy video imagines an animated desert landscape complete with colorful cacti set against a gloomy background. Throughout its runtime, several different hallucinogen-like visuals take center stage, including a wandering eye, a revolving sundial, and a radiant outline of Mirblouk playing guitar.
