Ryan Laetari - "String"

After sharing his third full-length, Big Boy, in 2019, the ever-prolific Brooklyn-based songwriter Ryan Laetari dropped his first new music of 2020 last week. The jangly new track, called “String,” is a catchy one that’ll have you smashing that back button for multiple listens. 

Last year, Laetari showed us his affinity for buzzing riffs on tracks like “Subway Dancer,” “Easy,” and “Let Me Feel,” and he’s carrying that vibe into the new decade. Laetari’s crisp, meandering guitar riff is infectious and takes front and center on “String,” with sunny harmonies peppered along its path that’ll make you forget it’s the middle of winter. It’s certainly made my January a little more bearable.
