So Zuppy - "Eachother"
We’re excited to premiere “Eachother,” the brand new single from Milwaukee-based bedroom pop artist So Zuppy. The project of songwriter Micah Foust is also announcing their forthcoming EP entitled Blindly, Pt. 2, which is scheduled for release on June 3rd.
“Eachother” is the result of Foust freeing themselves of any preconceived notions regarding love songs. In writing this song and the other tracks that will appear on Blindly Pt. 2, Foust essentially abandoned the idea love songs aren’t cool, and in the process, they managed to create ones that sound fresh, passionate, and unique. “Eachother,” in particular, highlights their distinct approach. The song carries the hallmarks of a lovesick ballad through its honeyed words and light-as-air melody, but it’s further enhanced and distinguished through its electronic flourishes. Metallic synths dance around a soft electro-beat, adding to the song’s already tender and intimate ambiance, and Foust even works in some field recordings to further bolster its warm atmosphere.
Foust shared the following about the song:
Writing "Eachother" was a pivotal creative experience for me. It's one of my first love songs, and it was one of those times where I sat down to write and it felt like the clouds opened up and the whole song came together within a couple of hours. At the end of the process I knew that sonically, this is the new direction I wanted to explore. The lyrics and production are playful and light-hearted. If you could capture the twinkle in your eye when your sweetheart walks in the room, that is what “Eachother” is all about. I had a lot of fun making the cover art, it represents the internal cheer of being in love.
