Trace Kotik - "Until Next Time”

Trace Kotik - "Until Next Time”

“Until Next Time,” the new single from Israeli musician Trace Kotik, sneaks up on you, and then without warning, proceeds to completely blow you away. After about 45 seconds of hushed vocals and wispy instrumentation, Kotik abruptly opens the sonic floodgates after uttering “some peace at last,” letting a rapid rush of heavy guitars, cymbal crashes, and a screeching synth riff gush in. The song basically maintains this high level of intensity throughout its duration, save for a brief reprieve or two, which helps to create a powerful loud-quiet dynamic. Lyrically, the song chronicles the perils of heartache and depression, as Kotik attempts to flush away pain and move forward by repeating the mantra "everything will be alright.” The song’s sonic and thematic intensity really makes it seem like he’s trying to excise some demons, and based on the track’s abrupt ending, it seems like he’s successful in doing so.

You can stream “Until Next Time” on your platform of choice. It’s the first single from Kotik’s forthcoming full-length, Everything has been done by now, so now everything is possible..., which is out on April 26th. Keep up with Kotik by liking him on Facebook and following him on Instagram.
