Triptides - "Moonlight Reflection"

Triptides - "Moonlight Reflection"

On “Moonlight Reflection,” Triptides deliver a heady slow jam that’s percolating with the mellowest of vibes. It highlights the diversity of moods and sounds that we’ll be treated to on their next album, Alter Echoes, as compared with the jangly and up-tempo “It Won’t Hurt You,” this tune aims to softly set you adrift in the breeze of a warm Los Angeles night. The evening is definitely the right time to enjoy this one, as it’s spacey and vast, swelling steadily through its glistening guitar tones and intoxicating bass groove, which swirl together with frontman Glenn Brigman’s silky vocals. There’s also some buzzing, cosmic riffage that bridges the verses together, imbuing just the right amount of loose, psychedelic energy to keep the song flowing smoothly. The trio showed their flair for dramatic conclusions on “It Won’t Hurt You,” and they take a similar approach on “Moonlight Reflection,” as some rich harmonies, a trembling guitar solo, and a thunderous beat all unite at the end to launch the song into the stratosphere.
