The New Restaurants - "Fuck Dallas BBQ"
If you hate the Dallas BBQ in Chelsea and love good old fashioned indie rock, then you’ll love “Fuck Dallas BBQ,” the new single from The New Restaurants. Inspired by the pantheon of distorted indie-rock greats like Pavement and Superchunk, the energized track examines the dynamics of competing recollections of the same event. Through a barrage of angular guitars, frontman Beau Alessi starts the track off by singing, “No, that wasn’t what I said at all about the Winter Olympics.” The guitars get a little jangly at times and his voice even has little John Linnell in it, which when you think about it, perfectly matches some of the absurdist lyrics like “Before you go, pour out an oversized red margarita for all the victims.”
“Fuck Dallas BBQ” will appear on the band’s new album, Wrong Place At Wrong Time, which is set for release on September 4th via Totally Real Records. Get it on Bandcamp! Keep up with the band by following them on Instagram and liking them on Facebook.
