Morningside Lane - "Under The Notion"
There’s nothing quite like summertime in the Garden State. Part of what makes it special is the great music that soundtracks all those fun summer moments, like cruising down the Garden State Parkway with your windows down and laying out in the sun down the shore. Asbury Park’s Morningside Lane definitely channels some of those Jersey vibes on their latest single, “Under The Notion,” as frontman Marc Del Giudice definitely sings with the rugged swagger of Springsteen and Brian Fallon. Sonically, the song follows a punchy rhythm and features some slick guitar lines with a quiet-to-loud dynamic that allows Del Giudice to really roar at times. It’s a mid-tempo stomper with a narrative that paints a portrait of a young man on the cusp of some major life changes. Del Giudice described the song’s protagonist as reaching a turning point in his life where “his youth and time are running out to live the life he wants to live,” but he’s holding out for one last shot. Now if that’s not a great Springsteen-esque drama, I don’t know what is.
“Under The Notion” will appear on Morningside Lane’s forthcoming album These Are Our Years. Stream the song on your platform of choice. Keep up with Morningside Lane by liking them on Facebook and following them on Instagram.
