Bobsled Team - "Drive"

Belfast, Northern Ireland’s Bobsled Team landed on our radar earlier this fall after we heard their gorgeous second single, “You’re So Cool.” Their music channels a tranquil dream-pop sound that meshes bits and pieces of several genres that have existed side-by-side in the United Kingdom for the last four decades.  On their latest single, “Drive,” there’s a distinct jangle to the duo’s melodies, but their guitar tones and voices also spread out far and wide, taking shape in a way that creates an atmosphere that twinkles and brightly shimmers. The duo’s dreamy interlocking vocals float amongst light guitar fuzz, reverb, and flickers of sharp drum beats, but it’s their harmonies that really breathe additional life into the track. Their voices dip in and out of the sonic forefront, reaching an echoey climax around three-quarters of the way through, and culminate by slowly fading away.
