Navel Grazr - "Heads Will Roll”

Navel Grazr  has blossomed into a full-blown band in the last year. Though it’s still the project of songwriter and guitarist Anjali Nair, she’s recruited frequent collaborators to back her both in the studio and live setting since its inception. Most significantly, she’s morphed it into a more collaborative project with PC producer/multi-instrumentalist Dominic Dellaquila, who you may know from his contributions to great local acts like Project Diem. With this new dual core intact, Navel Grazr recently released a four-song EP titled elegies, which serves as the project’s official coming-out party. 

“Head Will Roll,” the EP’s first track, is a welcome introduction to the project’s warm and ethereal sound. Opening with an angelic-sounding swirl of harmonies, guitars, and synths, Nair and Dellaquila then part the clouds to reveal a twinkling menagerie of sounds that includes a well-mixed combination of live drums and auxiliary percussion, layered vocals, and interwoven guitars and keys.
