Teenage Tom Petties - “Kissed Me In Seattle”

Teenage Tom Petties - “Kissed Me In Seattle”

Whats better than a fully grown, adult Tom Petty? Well, that’s easy. A group of Teenage Tom Petties! The Wiltshire, U.K. project of Tom Brown originally started as a single, pubescent Petty, but has since expanded to a full-blown band with the release of their self-titled 2022 debut cassette. That was quickly followed by 2023’s excellent Hotbox Daydream, which will be similarly succeeded in quick succession by another self-titled album, which is set for release on August 2nd. The band has already shared a bunch of great tunes that will appear on the new release, including a fuzz-pop gem called “Kissed Me In Seattle.”

“Kissed Me In Seattle” pays homage to the classic sounds of the Pacific Northwest and other 90s alt-rock favorites. The guitars pack a grunge-like distortion and the melody is oozy and Dando-esque. So, if you’re looking for a microdose of 20th-century indie rock nostalgia, “Kissed Me In Seattle” may very well scratch that itch.
