The Natvral - "Lucifer's Glory"
Kip Berman is having a fruitful second act as a songwriter with his project The Natvral. His first act with the Pains of Being Pure at Heart speaks for itself, so it’s impressive to see how Berman has seamlessly assumed a new musical identity with such aplomb. The songs on his debut full-length as the Natvral, Tethers, stood out for their honest perspective, warm folk-inspired arrangements, and at times, booming instrumentation. For Berman’s first statement under a new moniker, it was about as good as it gets.
His first release since Tethers comes in the form of a new single called “Lucifer’s Glory,” which is a little hellish, but mostly all glory. Like on his debut, Berman showcases his vocal power and range on “Lucifer’s Glory,” which in turn, really gives the track an uplifting, Springsteen-esque energy. The guitars and keys, in unison, are spirited - especially in the chorus, which makes itself known through a split-second pause as it commences. It’s a real hit the road, roll down the windows, and feel the wind in your hair-kind of jam. So, press play and feel all right.
