Veronica Bianqui - "Stereo"

Veronica Bianqui - "Stereo"

Los Angeles artist Veronica Bianqui finally released her debut self-titled album on Friday and for those who enjoy her unique brand of retro-sounding garage-pop, it was well worth the wait. After some COVID-related delays and label shopping, the album is now seeing the light of day and it features several brand new tracks, including the uber-catchy and booming  “Stereo.”

“Stereo” is defined by Bianqui’s towering voice, through which she projects a ton of soul and emotion across the track’s four and a half minute runtime. The song starts out with a strutting guitar riff, before Bianqui’s voice bursts through the door after only a few seconds, immediately taking the mood, and the octaves, up a few notches. Amongst a punchy beat, some sweet 60s girl-group style harmonies, and slightly distorted guitars, Bianqui grapples with being true to yourself in a world where others are trying to live “someone else’s life” and concealing their authentic selves. Her voice and message resonate, as the lyrics talk about how those ghosts of the past that linger inside your own head sometimes speak so loud and clear that they sound like they’re in stereo.  Bianqui, of course, has some solid advice to drown them out, as she sings “turn off that stereo,” and reminds us all to “do some living before we die.” Take note, people!

You can purchase Veronica’s record on limited edition pink vinyl via the Piaptk Recordings webstore. The album is also available on Bandcamp and all streaming platforms. Keep up with her by following her on Instagram and liking her on Facebook.

Veronica also appeared on the Look At My Records! radio program back in May 2019. Check it out here!
