Wildly - "Julia"
“Julia,” the latest single from Brooklyn’s Wildly, slowly lures you in and before you know it, you’re hooked, line and sinker. It’s an impassioned love song that starts rather unassumingly with a light mist of guitars and synths, as frontman Darren O’Brien’s voice begins to emerge just before the riffs and drums start getting more muscular. Once the chorus hits, the song takes off, and you can definitely start to hear a serious bit of Bryan Ferry swagger in the rhythm with some New York glam mixed in for good measure. O’Brien’s voice glides across a gloss of synths and guitars, as the energy level and vigor in his voice rises. The guitars mutate and send the song into overdrive, as the lyrics hone in on a final plea: “I need you to believe me, Julia, either you have to stay or leave me today. This never could be easy, Julia. I need you here with me or have a world away.”
