Brett Altman - "Abundance"
Brett Altman is a new artist in more ways than one. For one, his music has assumed a new identity rooted in grooves and an infectious rhythmic undercurrent. His first release of 2023, “My Way Out,” was a departure from guitar-centric sing-songwriter-styled tunes heard on his debut, Not Quite Love, but it signaled that Altman has emerged with a fresh outlook that’s translating into some very fun music. The toe-tapping bassline and uplifting lyrical themes gave the song all the makings of an ear-wormy, shout-along anthem.
Altman’s dance-pop era continues today with the release of his latest single, “Abundance.” The bass grooves are omnipresent again on this one, but Altman allows his expressive voice to shine more on “Abundance,” pairing it with lighter instrumentation during the song’s verses. The resulting creation is the most joyful and energetic in the songwriter’s growing catalog. Altman shared the following about the early morning songwriting inspiration behind “Abundance”:
Colin Rowe and I had a burst of creative inspiration when writing “Abundance.” He produced the instrumentation at 7:00 am, I cut vocals at 9:30am and the song was almost fully born by noon. Most of my primary vocals on the finished recording are from my initial demo performance. The vibe was just there from the get go.
