Tiberius - "Clumps In The Grass"
We had the pleasure of going deep with Boston artist Tiberius last year, gaining some serious insight into the meticulous creative process behind recording their debut release, Lull, in three different home settings in New England. After the January 2021 release of Lull, Brendan Wright, the songwriter behind the project, hit the road with a backing band, playing DIY spaces in the Northeast. The way the songs on the record came to life in the live setting inspired Wright to bottle up the kind of spontaneity, energy, and emotion that comes with sharing songs with an audience, and thus, Clumps In The Grass was born. It’s a special live album with an accompanying video performance that we’re excited to share today.
Clumps In The Grass features four tracks from Lull and two new songs, “Ehrlichiosis” and “Hypoxia.” The live session was recorded at “Kiernan's House” in Allston, MA in November of last year. Wright shared the following about the album’s background:
When playing these songs live, I wanted them to be interpretations of the songs by the people I’m playing with, rather than just exact renditions of my songs. I really wanted them to be collaborative in that way. I really like the group I’m playing with and wanted to capture this moment in time where all of us were fresh off of playing these songs for a few months.
