Adrian Danon - "Ready To Fall"
We’re thrilled to premiere “Ready To Fall,” the latest single from Jersey City songwriter Adrian Danon. The catchy pop-adjacent tune is Danon’s first release of 2020 and follows a string of solid self-released tracks in 2019, including “Witchtrials” and “Dancing Off This Mortal Coil.” For “Ready To Fall,” Danon enlisted the engineering and production services of Corey Zack at Cocoon Recording Studio to create a polished piece of confessional power-pop that dissects the type of emotional maturation that comes from navigating intimate relationships.
This year has been about change in more ways than one, and Danon adopts that narrative with little reservation on “Ready To Fall.” In elaborating on the inspiration behind the song, Danon explained that the song tackles themes of personal growth and “finding the courage to love myself again and being open to falling in love after intense heartbreak.” The release of these kinds of internal demons really comes through in the song’s powerful chorus, which features the driving, emotional refrain of “I’m ready to fall” and fuzz-infused guitars. Danon’s sharp pop songwriting has tinges of punk, giving the track just the right amount of edge without compromising on hooks.
Impressively, Danon plays all of the instruments on the recording except for the drums, allowing him to perfectly fine-tune the song’s mood. Thus, as much as the lyrics tackle the aforementioned themes of personal growth, the instrumentation mirrors the challenges of that process. The guitars swell with distortion as he bemoans “sleepless nights,” but these sounds ultimately give way to an exuberant solo at the tail end of the track’s runtime. It’s a fitting release of emotion that signifies the ultimate conclusion of this type of inner soul-searching and growth.
“Ready To Fall” is set for release this Friday, April 24th.
